Don't you love the Scent of a Fabric Shoppe?????

Oh my goodness! The rush that happens as I walk thru the door into a fabric shoppe.
My eyes start glancing around the room grasping bits and pieces of pattern and color. Should I go right to the homespuns first? What about the array of holiday fabrics that I can see the saleslady still adding to? Oh wait...I can see a bolt of something catching my eye in the clearance bin!!!

I love to mix and match fabrics as well. Sometimes the strangest combinations really just CLICK and work perfect. I love when that happens. It can really make a creation stand out from the rest of the crowd.

I think that is half the fun of picking and chosing my fabric. Wondering what I will place it with and what part of the outfit it will become. Embellishments are always added.
I can sometimes pull out a piece of fabric on a bolt to get a good look.....and POOF..... a finished doll springs to life before my eyes.

Thats the fabric coming home with me that day! LOL

What fabric have you bought lately that brought forth a vision to your mind right away???

Members in the Spotlight

Every once in awhile I am going to start placing different Patternmart members in the SPOTLIGHT. Show you some of their amazing patterns that you can find. There are 100's to chose from. Such a vast array of patterns that there is always something fun and creative.

Sometimes it will be a picture of a new pattern they have added.
Sometimes it will be a pattern that just must not be missed.

I may even be lucky enough to have a few of the members do some interviews with me!

Have a great day

Can you Smell the Eggnog????

OK! So I do know that Halloween hasn't even really passed us all yet but I can't help myself this year......the Christmas Season has just taken over my thoughts! LOL

All I seem to really be sketching or thinking about are the holidays. I see boughs of evergreens hung on my windows with large bright red bows. Floodlights of crisp white shone upon the house thru the snow.
OH! The snow! A blanket of snow already covering my yard and yet small sparkles of flakes fall quietly from above to glisten like diamonds left from fairies.

Santas!
Sitting in a chair. Wearing bright red long johns!Holding a list of naughty and nice. A bag full of toys for placing under trees.

Trees!
Evergreen boughs! Wreaths wrapped with bows! Lights! Ornies of every shape and size that you can imagine. Presents wrapped in bright paper and with each name written so clear on small tags from Santa.

The holiday season will be upon us all before we can blink our eyes.
Scoot over to http://www.patternmart.com and find yourself some wonderful patterns.

Make them yourself. Make ornies for a tree.
Give the gift of a new pattern to someone on your holiday list. Give them to everyone on your holiday list! You will find something for everyone!

Not Feeling Creative?

So I'm the first to admit that not every day do I feel like I can be creative.Sometimes I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Sometimes its the weather itself that has my "spark" feeling a bit damp. We all have days and moments like that. The thing to remember during such times..... we have to keep moving forward. This mood will pass!!!!

Some of the things I like to do to recharge my creative side:

~ Listen to my fave songs on my MP3 player.
~Light some of my fave candles in my room and fill it with a wonderful aroma.
~Go for a walk outside. The leaves are changing and the wind is brick.
~Bring out my sketchbook and pencils....flip thru the pages and see what I had drawn before. What can I switch around and revamp right now into something?
~Bring some old magazines out and spread them on my bed and flip thru the pages.
~I like to toss my fabric onto the bed..... start mixing and matching different textures and colors.

The uncreative mood doesn't last long. Next thing you know I have cinnamon bun tarts burning; Nickelback crunching loud from the speakers and papers covered with new ideas waiting to spring forth from the fabric to life!!

How do you break free from a block????
